CONGRATULATIONS!

To Michael Spooner, who just received the Spur Finalist Award for LAST CHILD at the Western Writers of America Convention. (Interviews pending on North Dakota Public Radio and South Dakota Public Radio).

To Gloria Skurzynski, who recently signed a film option contract with Jane Startz Productions (ELLA ENCHANTED and TUCK EVERLASTING) for What Happened in Hamelin. The screenplay is being written in 
Cologne, Germany, by a production company named Gemini Entertainment. 

To Michael O. Tunnell, whose book, WISHING MOON, is a nominee for the Nebraska Golden Sower Award in the Young Adult category.

July 13-14, 2006—Shannon Hale will be a guest author at the BYU Symposium on Books for Young Readers.

July 9-14, 2006—Rick Walton and Randall Wright will be co-teaching a beginning writing class at the Writing For Young Readers Conference at BYU.

July 17, 2006—Randall Wright will be at the Sundance Chilren's Festival.

July 29, 2006—Michael O. Tunnell will be speaking in Nebraska at a literature festival. 

August 19, 2006—Kim Williams-Justesen will be autographing at the grand re-opening of the Treehouse Museum in Ogden from 12-1:30 p.m.

August 19, 2006—Anne Bowen will be at the grand re-opening of the TreeHouse Children's Museum in Ogden from 1:30-3:00.

August 25, 2006—Randall Wright will be performing at a pre-show for the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in Orem, Utah.
