CONGRATULATIONS
To Shannon Hale, whose Princess Academy received the Utah Children's Book Award, given by the Utah Center for the Book, and is a nominee for the Beehive Award.

And also to Shannon, who flew to Orlando to be filmed for Scholastic Book Fair's Author Video. Each year, they feature about 6 authors and illustrators and are given free to schools. Princess Academy will be featured in both the elementary and middle school videos, so about 40 million kids will see her next school year!

To Cara and Mark Buehner, whose SUPERDOG, THE HEART OF A HERO has won the Pennsylvania Young Reader's Choice Award for 2005-2006

APPEARANCES AND EVENTS

June 11-17, 2006—Guy Francis, Chris Crowe, Carol Lynch Williams, Rick Walton, Randall Wright, and others will be participating in the BYU Writing and Illustrating for Young Readers workshop.

June 19-22, 2006—Shannon Hale will be teaching the YA novel workshop at Writers @ Work

June-July, 2006—Kim Williams-Justesen will be leading four elementary-aged book groups through Salt Lake Community College's continuing education program. She will lead the1st and 2nd grades, two sessions of the 3rd and 4th grades, and the 5th and 6th grade groups.

June 22-26, 2006—Shannon Hale will be at the ALA conference in New Orleans.

June 24-25, 2006—Sherry Meidell will be riding the MS 150. Anyone that contributes $15 or more to the National MS Society will be entered in a drawing for six of her picture books autographed to whomever they want. For more information you can email Sherry at smeidell@burgoyne.com

July 3, 2006—Randall Wright will be telling stories at the Orem library.

July 8, 2006—Kim William-Justesen will be signing My Brother the Dog at the South Jordan Barnes & Noble from 2:00 - 4:00.

July 13-14, 2006—Shannon Hale will be a guest author at the BYU Symposium on Books for Young Readers.

July 9-14, 2006—Rick Walton and Randall Wright will be co-teaching a beginning writing class at the Writing For Young Readers Conference at BYU.

July 17, 2006—Randall Wright will be at the Sundance Children's Festival.

August 25, 2006—Randall Wright will be performing at a pre-show for the Timpanogos Storytelling Festival in Orem, Utah.
