Attention readers and lovers of books. Here's a great opportunity for you. You are invited to a reading summit where over 40 classes are being taught by 20 reading experts. This event is sponsored by the Utah PTA, Utah Valley State College, the UEA, Utah Arts Council, the Utah School Boards Association, The State Office of Education, the Governor's Commission on Literacy, the State Office of Ethnic Affairs, the Utah Elementary Principals Association, the Utah Reads Alliance, and other organizations.

BORN: Worcester, MA (a long long time ago!)
PARENTS: Jim and Betty Gummere. She was an interior decorator. He was a businessman. He died years ago but my mother is now 90 years old and still kicking...dogs, kids, and me if I don't respond fast enough.
SPOUSE: Dave Hall== landscape painter (former educator like me but he got dreaming about his creative side and left teaching 3 years ago)
CHILDREN: daughter (19) son (14)
EDUCATION: BA (psychology)from Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, NY MA(Math Education) at Lesley University in Cambridge, MA Library/Media Certification- Utah Sate University- Logan, UT
PLACES LIVED: Grafton, MA Ages 1-18- a small New England country town Saratoga Springs, NY (College), Boston, MA (What a fun place to live!) New Haven, CT (2 years while my husband was in grad. school) Helena, MT 1 year Salt Lake City, UT since 1977...a really long time!
OTHER JOBS HELD: Retail sales (That's how I bought my clothes in college), nanny and cook (This is how I learned to cook!), waitress (This is how I learned to love eating HAHA), behavior therapist (Who's helping whom?), and classroom teacher (Grades 2-8). Now I am a full time elementary school library media specialist (also known as a librarian).
HOBBIES: playing with my husband, 2 kids, and 2 dogs, hiking, skiing, reading, boating, collecting antiques
