1st and 3rd Thursdays of each month, from 3:30-5:00 pm, Carol Lynch Williams runs the Springville Young Writers Group, a free critique/writing group for children. Call Vivian Milius at the Springville Library for information.

June 23-24, 2005--Gloria Skurzynski will be speaking at six Clark County public libraries as part of the Las Vegas centennial celebration.

June 25, 2005--Sharlee Glenn will be giving an author lecture and signing books on "The Writer's Touch" at Media Play in Orem.

June 28, 2005--Shannon Hale will be speaking and signing at the Orem Public Library at 2 pm.

July 9, 2005--the King's English bookstore will host a release party for Shannon Hale's PRINCESS ACADEMY, 2:00 pm.

July 15, 2005--Ken Baker will be speaking to a writer's group at the Springville Library.

July 16, 2005--The King's English bookstore will host a release party for Shannon Hale's PRINCESS ACADEMY.

August 25-27, 2005--Randall Wright will be appearing at the Mt. Timpanogos Storytelling Festival.

September 16-17, 2005--Sherry Meidell will be presenting at the League of Utah Writers Convention.

September 26, 2005--Rick Walton will be visiting Delta South Elementary.

September 28, 2005--Rick Walton will be visiting Corinne Elementary.

September 28, 2005--Rick Walton will be visiting Discovery Elementary in Brigham City.

November 1-4, 2005--Rick Walton will be visiting schools in Vernal, Utah.

Nov-Dec. 2005--Rick Walton will be visiting schools in the greater Mesa, Arizona area.

Jan-Apr, 2006--Rick Walton will be teaching a picture book writing class at BYU on Tuesday evenings.

AUTHOR PROFILE: KRISTYN CROW

BORN: Inglewood, California

PARENTS: Robert W. Riley and Kathryn Gale Riley

SPOUSE: Steven Crow

CHILDREN: Garrett, Kyle, Emily, Riley, Cassandra, Liam, Kathryn. We are a blended family; I provided the boys, he provided the girls, then we had a contest who would break their streak and I won (got my girl)! Yes, they all live with us.

EDUCATION: I majored in English at Brigham Young University, where I abused the "R (for repeatable)" in the Creative Writing courses offered.

PLACES LIVED: Rolling Meadows (now nicknamed "rolling ghettos") Illinois, Claremont, California, New York, NY (Yes, I owned my own collapsible shopping cart and pushed my groceries down Broadway like everyone else), and now Orem (which, as my son says, is only one letter away from OREO.)

OTHER JOBS HELD: Sandwich Maker, School Relations Secretary at BYU, Executive Assistant to the Chief Financial Officer of Columbia University (explain to me how I handled million dollar accounts and now can barely balance my own checkbook).

HOBBIES: Driving seven children to Disneyland in a big white cargo van.
