November 1, 2004--Mike Tunnell will be speaking to students at West Chester University in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

November, 3, 2004--Deseret book and the Granite Education Foundation are partnering to bring Mark Buehner to Salt Lake's Whittier Elementary. Mark will sign books and speak to several 2nd grades in the Granite School District

November 5, 2004--Chris Crowe will be reading his work at the BYU English Department Reading Series, at noon, in the Harold B. Lee Library auditorium.

November 5, 2004--Mark Buehner will be at Sunrise Elementary in Smithfield.

November 8, 2004--Janice Card, of the BYU Bookstore, will present her annual Christmas Booktalk in the BYU HBLL Auditorium, level 1, at 4:00 pm.

November 10, 2004--Mark Buehner will be signing books at The Children's Hour bookstore in Bountiful

Please note: Each of you who wish to participate in Kathleen's Breakout Session are invited to provide 13 lines of text on which feedback will be given. Please let us know at registration if you plan to bring text so we can properly prepare for the session.

There are three kinds of text that will be workshopped: A hook—the first thirteen lines of a story (the first page in manuscript format). Description--thirteen lines of setting or characterization. Plot--thirteen lines of a plot outline or synopsis. Anyone is welcome to attend a Lucky 13 workshop, whether you have thirteen lines of text or not. Observers are also welcome to provide feedback on the text being workshopped.

November 12 through December, 2004--Sherry Meidell will have several paintings displayed in the Bountiful Davis Art Center's Holiday Show.

November 14-19, 2004--Gloria Skurzynski will be visiting schools in Florida.

November 15, 2005--Ron Woods will be visiting Rafael Hernandez Junior High in Newark, NJ.

November, 16, 2004--Mark Buehner will be at West Elementary in Tooele.

November 18, 2004--Shannon Hale will be signing at Books of Wonder in New York City.

November 19, 2004--Shannon Hale will be at Terrill Middle School in New Jersey.

November 20, 2004--Chris Crowe will be speaking at the National Council of Teachers of English convention in Indianapolis at 11 am, and signing at the Penguin booth at 3:30 pm.

November 22, 2004--Ron Woods will be visiting Monroe Elementary School in Boise, ID.

December 9, 2004--Rick Walton will be visiting Creekside Elementary in Kaysville.

December 15, 2004--Rick Walton will be visiting E.G. King Elementary School in Layton

December 22, 2004--Robert Neubecker will be signing and reading his book WOW! CITY! at Dolly's in Park City from 4-6 pm.
